About ISPA
Who We Are
An independent, practitioner-led alliance supporting accountants across Ireland — from practice and industry, with a focus on those serving SMEs.
The Irish Society of Professional Accountants (ISPA) is an independent, practitioner-led alliance supporting accountants across Ireland. We bring together professionals from both practice and industry, with a particular focus on those serving small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
ISPA was established to create a strong, inclusive community where accountants can connect, share insights, and access practical support tailored to the realities of modern practice and business.
In addition, ISPA provides a collective voice for its members, representing their interests at the level of Revenue, Government, and IAASA, and advocating for practical, proportionate, and effective policies that reflect the needs of independent practitioners and finance professionals.
What We Do
ISPA exists to help professional accountants succeed in an increasingly complex and evolving environment. We do this by providing:
- Practical support aligned with real-world challenges
- Continuous professional development (CPD) focused on relevant and emerging topics
- Technical resources and guidance, including timely updates on Irish tax, regulatory, and compliance developments
- Networking opportunities to connect with peers, share experiences, and build meaningful professional relationships
- A strong collective voice, representing members at the level of Revenue, Government, and IAASA, and advocating for practical, proportionate, and effective policies
- Active engagement on policy and regulation, including responding to consultations and ensuring the views of smaller practices and industry professionals are heard
- Ongoing insights and member feedback, through surveys and forums to capture and represent real practitioner perspectives
- Support during professional challenges, providing a trusted community, shared experience, and guidance for members facing regulatory or disciplinary matters
- Collaboration with professional bodies and stakeholders, keeping members informed and connected to developments across the wider profession
Whether you are running a small practice or working within industry, ISPA is designed to support your professional growth, strengthen your influence, and enable your success.
Our Role and Voice
ISPA provides a strong and unified voice for independent practitioners and accountants working in industry on issues that directly affect the profession and the wider business environment.
We actively represent our members at the level of:
- Revenue
- Government
- IAASA (Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority)
Through ongoing engagement and advocacy, we work to ensure that the perspectives of smaller practices and finance professionals are heard, understood, and reflected in policy, regulatory developments, and the practical application of rules.
A Voice That Represents You
ISPA ensures the perspectives of independent practitioners and industry accountants are heard at the highest levels — from Revenue and Government to IAASA.
